U-DECIDE
Justice or Mercy?
Which one do you want on that day that you stand before God, your creator?
Jesus Christ said: “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.” | ![]() |
The news doesn’t get better, because the secrets, intentions, and selfishness of the heart will be exposed and judged as well (Romans 2:16).
Do you want Justice or Mercy?
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,[a] nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you.” (I Corinthians 6:9-11)
Hebrews 2:2 promises that every disobedient act and thought and every transgression of God’s perfect moral law will receive what it deserves.
Justice or Mercy?
Are you sure you want what you deserve?
Mercy is what you need, it is what we all need. Psalm 103 says “as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him.”
You can have Justice, or humble yourself and have His kind Mercy.

If mercy is what you desire, then you have taken the first step: recognition of your desperate need. You also need to acknowledge why you are so desperately in need God’s mercy. Take a careful and intense look at what gracious act God has done for you so that you may receive His lovingkindness and Mercy– 2,000 years ago God became a man in the person of Jesus Christ, suffered and died on the cross bearing the just and due penalty of all of your sins. He arose from the dead on the third day defeating death and ascended into heaven. This is so incredible because you were not worthy of such kindness and mercy. You deserved Justice, but God is offering Mercy. Isn’t He incredibly kind and loving? His grace is “amazing” to save sinners like you and me.
The Question still remains: Do you want God’s Justice or Mercy?
What about a prayer for salvation? That is between you and Jesus Christ, your Savior and God. I recommend that you pour your heart out to Him asking for forgiveness and mercy. Diligently pursue Him by faith and He will reward you, this is another promise that He will keep. The Bible says that "Whosoever will call upon the Name of the Lord will be saved." That is a promise that you need to act on...today.
